Comparison — iDoceo

Classroom Hub vs iDoceo

iDoceo is a one-off $19.99 purchase, works entirely offline, and keeps your data on your own device. It is also iPad, iPhone and Mac only. Classroom Hub is £49/year, runs in any browser, and adds the front-of-class and student-facing side iDoceo does not have. The deciding question is usually whether you carry an iPad.

Where iDoceo wins

Best for: Apple-ecosystem teachers who want a deep planner and gradebook they buy once, own outright, and can use with no internet at all.

  • You buy it once and it is yours$19.99, no subscription, ever. Over five years that is a fraction of what we cost. If subscriptions are the thing you object to, that objection is entirely reasonable and iDoceo answers it.
  • It works with no internet at allEverything is on the device. If your school wifi is unreliable — and in plenty of international schools it is — that matters more than any feature list.
  • Your data does not leave your deviceNo vendor servers, with optional sync encrypted through Apple. That is a stronger privacy position than any hosted product can offer, ours included.
  • The gradebook goes deeper than oursCustom formulas, icon and text marking, and export to PDF, XLS and CSV. If you want to build your own calculation, iDoceo lets you and we do not.

Where Classroom Hub wins

Best for: Teachers on mixed devices who want the board, the class routine and the rewards connected to the marks, and are fine with a subscription.

  • It runs on whatever is in front of youiDoceo is iPad, iPhone and Mac only. If your classroom machine is a Windows desktop or a Chromebook — which in most schools it is — that rules it out before anything else is considered.
  • The class can see itClassroom Screen puts objectives, a timer, a bell ringer and the name picker on the board. iDoceo is a teacher-side planner; there is nothing for the room to look at.
  • Points, rewards and recognitionClass points feed a store students spend in, and Star of the Week style achievements add points automatically. iDoceo has no student motivation side at all.
  • The primary classroom routineBirthdays, class jobs, homework check-in and the class dashboard. iDoceo plans your day; Classroom Hub also runs the class's day.

Common questions

iDoceo is a one-off $19.99. Is Classroom Hub really worth £49 a year?

Not if you have an iPad and want a planner and gradebook you own outright — on those terms iDoceo is excellent value and we would rather say so. Classroom Hub earns its price when you need the class-facing half: the board, the points, the reward store, the morning dashboard, and exit tickets that mark themselves. None of that exists in iDoceo.

Does iDoceo work on Windows or Android?

No. iDoceo is iPad, iPhone and Mac only. Classroom Hub runs in any browser, which for most teachers is the practical difference between the two.

What happens to my data if I stop paying?

With iDoceo the question does not arise — the data is on your device and the purchase is permanent. With Classroom Hub your account moves to a read-only state and you have a 90-day window to export everything. That is a genuine advantage for iDoceo and worth weighing.
